Over 30 years ago, Columbia began a relationship with North Slope drilling contractors which has thrived to this day. In 1975 we designed and fabricated our first wheel system to support a multi-module oil rig, with a combined capacity of over 3 million pounds.

Since that time, Columbia has mobilized more than 35 drill rigs (28 of which are self-propelled), comprising over 130 modules. Virtually every mobilized oil rig on Alaska's North Slope rests on a Columbia wheel system. Our experience and expertise have given us a leadership role in the field of custom designed wheel systems.
